śuddhāśuddhabhogapradamityarthaḥ | ataśca jagataḥ sanniveśādimattvena kāryatvāt tatkartṛtayeśvarasiddhiriti bhāvaḥ | etena prakṛtipuruṣakarmeśvaravādino'pi nirastāḥ, prakṛtikarmaṇoracetanatvāt, puruṣasya ca samalatvenāsvavaśatvāt | ajaṃ nityanirmalatvāt | śarīrādiyogātmanāpi janmanā rahitam | anena cāsya nityatvaṃ siddham | asya hi jagatkarturanityatve janmādiyogitve tadavadhāraṇamaśakyam, tatasteṣāṃ saṃkṣepeṇa tattvabodhārthamasyārambha iti | tattvajñānasya paramparayā parāparamokṣasādhanatvāt paramapuruṣārthātmakaṃ prayojanamapyatra sūcitam | tataśca tattvajñānaprakaraṇayorjñāpyajñāpakalakṣaṇastattvajñāna-mokṣayorupāyopeyalakṣaṇaśca saṃbandhaḥ siddhaḥ | gurusaṃpradāyātmakamapi saṃbandhaṃ vakṣyati- bhagavānugrajyotiḥ sarvajño'yamanujagrāha iti | anugrahasyopalakṣaṇatvāt paramaśivāt prabhṛti ātmāntamavicchinnaśāstrasaṃpradāyataḥ siddhāntārthaḥ pratiṣṭhita iti bhāvaḥ || 1 || itthaṃ tattvavyākhyāṃ pratijñāya vyutkrameṇopaneyo'sau śivāya gamanaṃ prati iti śrīmatsvāyaṃbhuvaśrutesteṣāṃ ca saṃhārakrameṇaiva dīkṣāyāṃ śuddhiriti sūcayan saṃhārakrameṇaiva pañcabhūtāni tāvadāha- kṣitijalaśikhipavanāmbarabhūtānyeṣāṃ krameṇa vṛttāni | dhāraṇasaṃgrahapākavyūho dānaṃ ca tadavakāśasya || 2 || kṣitijalaśikhipavanāmbarāṇyeva bhūtānītyarthaḥ | eṣāṃ ca pṛthivyādīnāṃ dhāraṇādibhiḥ kāryaiḥ siddhirityāha- eṣāṃ krameṇeti | tatra saṃgraho'vaṣṭambhaḥ, vyūho'vayavasaṃghaṭṭanam, avakāśasya āspadasya dānamākāśavṛttiḥ | tato avakāśadānātmanā kāryeṇa ākāśasiddhestadabhāvavādinaścārvākāstatpratyakṣavādino mīmāṃsakāśca pratikṣiptāḥ | na cāsya naiyāyikādibhiriva nityatvamiṣyate, vakṣyamāṇavat tanmātrākāryatvād bhuvanādhāratvaśruteśca vyūho'pi vāyukāryāṇāmupalakṣaṇam | yadāhuḥ- sparśaśabdadhṛtikampaliṅgo vāyuḥ iti | kiñca- gandho raso'tha rūpaṃ sparśaḥ śabdo mahīguṇāḥ pañca | toyādīnāmete pūrvaṃ pūrvaṃ vihāya paripāṭyā || taduktaṃ mṛgendre- iti pañcasu śabdo'yaṃ sparśo bhūtacatuṣṭaye || aśītoṣṇo mahīvāyvoḥ śītoṣṇau vāritejasoḥ | bhāsvadagnau jale śuklaṃ kṣitau śuklādyanekadhā || rūpaṃ triṣu raso'mbhassu madhuraḥ ṣaḍvidhaḥ kṣitau | gandhaḥ kṣitāvasurabhiḥ surabhiśca mato budhaiḥ || (vi0 12|27- 29) iti | ata evāśrayādanyatropalabdherākāśaikaguṇaḥ śabda iti yadvaiśeṣikādibhiruktam, yadayuktam, tasya hetoḥ pratyakṣāgamabādhitatvena kālātyayāpadiṣṭatvāt | tathāhi- pratyakṣeṇākāśe pratiśabdaḥ śrūyate, vāyau śakaśakādiḥ, agnau dhamadhamādiḥ, jale chalachalādiḥ, pṛthivyāṃ kaḍakaḍādiḥ | kiñca, bheryādyāśrayeṣvapi śabdā upalabhyanta ityādi vistareṇoktamasmābhiḥ mṛgendravṛttidīpikāyāmiti tata evāvadhāryam || 2 || teṣāṃ ca bhūtānāmasmadādibāhyendriyaparicchedyaguṇatvād ghaṭādivat kāraṇapūrvakatvasiddhestatkāraṇaṃ tanmātrapañcakaṃ siddhamityāha- tadbhūtasamānaguṇaṃ kāraṇamāpūrakaṃ ca tasyaiva | tanmātraṃ bhūtasya hyayaṃ viśeṣo viśeṣarahitaṃ tat || 3 || tadbhūtasamānaguṇaṃ tanmātraṃ tasya bhūtasya kāraṇamupādānamāpūrakaṃ ca poṣakaṃ ca bhavatīti śeṣaḥ | yadāhuḥ- akṛtasya karaṇaṃ kṛtasya parivardhanaṃ ca prakṛtikarma iti | tataśca gandhādipañcaguṇātmakaṃ gandhatanmātraṃ bhūmeḥ kāraṇam, rasādicaturguṇarūpaṃ tu rasatanmātraṃ jalasyetyevamanyat spaṣṭam | anenaiteṣāṃ paramāṇurūpatāmabhidadhānā naiyāyikādayaḥ pratikṣiptāḥ | teṣāmacaitanyatve satyanekatvād mūrtatvācca ghaṭādivat pāṃśvādivadvā kāryatvāvyabhicārāt | tataśca tanmātrādidvāreṇa māyaiva paramakāraṇamiti vakṣyāmaḥ | yadyevaṃ samānaguṇatvād bhūtatanmātrayoḥ ko viśeṣo'ta āha- tanmātraṃ bhūtasyeti | yathāhi pṛthivyādibhūtagatā gandhādayo guṇāḥ proktavadviśiṣṭā upalabhyante, naivaṃ tatkāraṇeṣu tanmātreṣu | tataśca sūkṣmatvādaviśiṣṭaguṇamātrarūpāttanmātravargādbhūtavargasya sthūlatvādviśiṣṭaguṇayogitvaṃ viśeṣaḥ | ata evaiṣāṃ tanmātrasaṃjñāḥ | tacchrūyate- guṇāviśiṣṭāstanmātrāstanmātrapadayojitāḥ (mṛ0 vi0 12|5) iti || 3 || athaiṣāṃ bhūtatanmātrāṇāṃ kāryaśabdavācyatvamindriyādhāratvaṃ cāha- etatkāryaṃ daśadhā karaṇairāviśya kāryate ceṣṭām | avibhutvāt karaṇāni tu kāryamadhiṣṭhāya ceṣṭante || 4 || etāni ca sthūlasūkṣmarūpeṇendriyādhārāṇi sthitānītyuktaṃ mataṅge- tanmātrāṇīha ghaṭavanmahābhūtāni lepavat (vi0 19|21) iti || 4 || atha karmendriyasiddhimāha- vacanādānotsargānandāgamaneṣu karmakaraṇāni | śrotrasparśanadarśanajihvāghrāṇāni buddhikaraṇāni || 5 || vākkarapāyuprajananacaraṇasamākhyāni karaṇāni | utsargo malavirekaḥ | vāgādīni karmākṣāṇi vacānādyāsu kriyāsu karaṇāni siddhānītyarthaḥ | ataśca karmendriyābhāvavādino naiyāyikādayaḥ pratikṣiptāḥ, nākaraṇā kṛtiḥ saṃbhavati yataḥ | nanu bhrūlatotkṣepādīnāmapi kriyātvāt karmendriyānantyaprasaṅga iti cet, tanna, teṣāṃ tvagindriyavat sarvaśarīravyāpakatvenā[na]bhyupagamāt, hastādereva bhrūkṣepaṇādivyāpārastattatsaṃjñākṛtaḥ, tattadindriyaśaktīnāṃ tatra tatra viśeṣādhiṣṭhānādityavirodhaḥ | buddhīndriyāṇyucyante- śrotrasparśaneti | spṛśyate'neneti sparśanaṃ tvagindriyameva | darśanamapi cakṣureva || 5 || atha kairvyāpāraireṣāṃ siddhirityāha- pratyekaṃ śabdādiṣveṣāmālocanaṃ vṛttiḥ | iti daśadhā karaṇaṃ bahiricchāsaṃrambhabodhavṛttyanyat || 6 || antaḥkaraṇaṃ trividhaṃ cittāhaṅkārabuddhinirvācyam | utpattirahaṅkārāccittabahiṣkaraṇabhūtayonīnām || 7 || eṣāṃ śrotrādīnāṃ yathākramaṃ śabdasparśarūparasagandheṣu viṣayeṣu ālocanaṃ grahaṇam | pratyekamasādhāraṇaṃ vṛttiḥ | śabdādigrahaṇānyathānupapattyā teṣāṃ siddhiriti bhāvaḥ | itthaṃ bahirdaśaprakāraṃ bāhyendriyaṃ jñeyamiti śeṣaḥ | antaḥkaraṇasiddhimāha- antaḥkaraṇamiti | bāhyakaraṇādanyadantaḥkaraṇaṃ trividham | manobuddhyahaṅkārākhyam | teṣāṃ ca kramādicchādayo vyāpārā ityāha- icchāsaṃrambhabodhavṛttīti | tatrecchāśabdena saṃkalpākhyamavadhānamekāgratāparaparyāyamucyate | tacca dṛkkriyātmakatvād buddhyahaṅkārakāryād bāhyagrāhakaparāmarśātmano bhinnam, tayoḥ pratyayarūpatvāt | ato yasyaitatkāryaṃ tanmana iti manaḥsiddhiḥ | tacca manaḥ saṅkalpenāntareṇa bāhyendriyādhiṣṭhānena ca dvidhādhikārītyuktaṃ mataṅge- dvidhādhikāri taccittaṃ bhokturbhogopapādakam | bahiḥ karaṇabhāvena svocitena yataḥ sadā || indriyāṇāṃ tu sāmarthyaṃ saṅkalpenātmavartinā | karotyantaḥsthitaṃ bhūyastato'ntaḥkaraṇaṃ manaḥ || (vi0 18|81-82) iti | mṛgendre'pi- devapravartakaṃ śīghracāri saṃkalpadharmi ca (vi0 12|7) iti | tatra ca devaśabdenendriyāṇyucyante | indriyādhiṣṭhātṛtvaṃ ca tatraiva sādhitam- ātmendriyārthanaikṛṣṭye sarvadaivāpravṛttitaḥ | pravṛttikārakāstitvaṃ yuktito'pyavasīyate || (vi0 12|9) iti | tataścāvibhutvāt pratyātmaniyatatayā'nekatvācca kāryatvaṃ manasaḥ | tathā saṃrambhaḥ prayatnātmako'haṅkārakārya eva | yaduktam- saṃrambho'haṅkṛtervṛttiḥ (bho0 kā0 33) iti | sa ca jñānaśaktyāśrayabhūtayā bodhādhyavasāyavatkriyāśaktyāśrayabhūtayā bhavati | ayameva prāṇādirūpasyāntarasya vāyoḥ pravṛttinimittam | yadāhuḥ- preraṇākarṣaṇe vāyoḥ prayatnena vinā kutaḥ (pra0 vā0 1|54) iti | kiñca, grāhyaparāmarśātmano buddhikāryāt pratikṣaṇamanekarūpasyātyantavilakṣaṇasya ekarūpasyāhamiti grāhakaparāmarśasya yatkaraṇaṃ so'haṅkāra ityahaṅkārasiddhiḥ | na cāyaṃ tattvāntarāṇāṃ kāryaḥ, teṣāṃ svakāryaireva siddheḥ, kāryāntarahetutve pramāṇābhāvāt, anekatattvaparikalpanābhāvaprasaṅgāccā | evaṃ bodho grāhyādhyavasāyo buddhivṛttiḥ | tathāhi- dvividho'tra bodho'dhyavasāyātmako'nadhyavasāyātmakaśca | tatra yo'nadhyavasāyātmakaḥ sarvadā grāhakarūpeṇaiva bhāsamāna ātmasvabhāva eva | yastvadhyavasāyarūpaḥ sa utpannatvopapttyā'nityatvenāva-bhāsamāno na puṃsvabhāvaḥ, nityasyānityasvabhāvatvāyogāt | na ca nityo'sāvanubhūyate, ato'yaṃ yasya svabhāvaḥ sā buddhiḥ | tadāhuḥ- asti hyālocanajñānaṃ prathamaṃ nirvikalpakam | bālamūkādivijñānasadṛśaṃ śuddhavastujam || tataḥ paraṃ punarvastudharmairjātyādibhiryayā | buddhyā'va-sīyate sāpi pratyakṣatvena saṃmatā || (ślo0 vā0, pratyakṣa0 112, 120) iti | kiñca, dharmādyāśrayatayāpi buddhisiddhiḥ śrūyate- bhāvā buddhiguṇā dharmajñānavairāgyabhūtayaḥ | sāttvikā vyatyayenaite rāgamutsṛjya tāmasāḥ || (mṛ0 vi0 10|24) iti | ayamabhiprāyaḥ- karmaṇo dharmādharmātmano'nuṣṭhānarūpasya tatkṣaṇameva nāśāt tajjanyo'pūrvākhyaḥ saṃskāraḥ kālāntaraphalaśrutyanyathānupapattyā kalpyate | sa ca nātmani saṃbhavati, avikāritvāt, karmaṇāṃ ca kṛṣyādīnāmātmasaṃskārakatvādṛṣṭeḥ, api tu jaḍa eva | yatra tāni saṃskāraṃ kurvanti, sā dharmādyaṣṭaguṇā buddhiriti | evaṃ jñānādisaṃskāre'pi vācyam | te ca bhāvāḥ siddhyādipratyayabhedena śatatrayasaṃkhyā bhavantītyuktamanyatra | itthaṃ karaṇavargaṃ prasādhya tatra teṣāṃ kasmādutpattirityāha- utpattirahaṅkārāditi | tatra manaso buddhīndriyāṇāṃ ca sāttvikāt taijasākhyādahaṅkāraskandhādutpattiḥ, karmendriyāṇāṃ tu rājasād vaikārikākhyāt, bhūtayonīnāṃ ca tanmātrāṇāṃ tāmasād bhūtādisaṃjñādevaṃ trividhādahaṅkārādeṣāmutpattiḥ | yaduktaṃ mṛgendre- śrotraṃ tvakcakṣuṣī jihvā nāsā ca manasā saha | prakāśānvayataḥ sāttvāstaijasaśca sa sāttvikaḥ || vāṇī pāṇī bhagaḥ pāyuḥ pādau ceti rajodbhavāḥ | karmānvayād rajobhūyān gaṇo vaikāriko'tra yaḥ || śabdaḥ sparśaśca rūpaṃ ca raso gandhaśca pañcamaḥ | guṇāviśiṣṭāstanmātrāstanmātrapadayojitāḥ | prakāśakarmakṛdvargavailakṣaṇyāt tamodbhavāḥ | prakāśyatvācca bhūtādirahaṅkāreṣu tāmasaḥ || (vi0 12|3-6) iti | ataśca buddhīndriyadvāreṇa taijasenāhaṅkāreṇātmano jñānaśaktirunmīlyate | vaikārikeṇāpi karmendriyadvāreṇa kriyāśaktirunmīlyate | tasyā malinatvāt tadapekṣayā yataḥ | eṣāṃ ca sāttvikādivyavahāraḥ sattvādiguṇabāhulyāt | nāmiśraṃ pariṇamata iti nyāyānna tvekajanakaṃ bhavati || 6-7 || mahato'haṅkārasya tu mahataśca guṇatrayājjanma | sattvaṃ rajastamaśca prakhyāvyāpāraniyamarūpāśca || 8 || ahaṅkārasya tu buddherjanma buddheśca guṇatattvāt | taduktaṃ sāṃkhyairapi- prakṛtermahāṃstato'haṅkārastasmād gaṇaśca ṣoḍaśakaḥ (sāṃ0 kā0 22) iti | nanu vaiśeṣikādibhirniyataviṣayatvād bhautikānīndriyāṇīṣyante | tadayuktam, cakṣurādinā bhūtāntaragatasya guṇasya bhūtāntarāṇāṃ karmasāmānyādeśca grahaṇāt | taduktaṃ bhogakārikāsu- bhautikatvācca niyame karmasāmānyayoḥ sphuṭam | devebhyo buddhayo na syuḥ samavāye ca dehinām || (ślo0 40) iti | yaduktaṃ kārakatvāviśeṣe'pi naiṣāṃ viṣayaniyatasvabhāvabheda iti, tadapyutpattibhedādikṣuvikārāṇāṃ guḍakhaṇḍaśarkarādīnāmiva bhaviṣyatīti na kiñcidetat | atha guṇatattvamāha- sattvaṃ rajastama iti | prakāśapravṛttiniyamāḥ sattvādīnāṃ kramād vyāpārā ityarthaḥ | eṣāṃ ca sūkṣmadehadvāreṇa samastamāyākāryeṣu vyāpakatvamasti | prakāśādayaścānyāsāmapradhānānāṃ guṇavṛttīnāmupalakṣaṇam | tathāhi- sthairyadhairyādayo'pi sattvasya vṛttayaḥ, krauryaśauryādayo'pi rajasaḥ, tamasastvaratimāndyādayo'pītyuktaṃ mataṅgādau || 8 || nanu guṇā eva prakṛtiriti sāṃkhyāḥ, tadayuktamityāha- traya eva te guṇāstviha yeṣāṃ saṃbhūtiravyaktāt | avibhāgo hi guṇānāmādhāre kṣmādibhāgavadavaśyam || 9 || ayamabhiprāyaḥ- guṇānāmacaitanye satyanekatvād yato ghaṭādivat kāraṇapūrvakatvam, tatasteṣāmavyaktādeva saṃbhūtirityevaśabdo bhinnakramaḥ | prakṛtikāryatvameva prapañcayati- ādhāra iti | kṣmādibhāgānāṃ ghaṭādirūpāṇāṃ yathā pṛthivyātmaka ādhāre'vaśyamavibhāgo bhavati, evaṃ sattvādīnāmapi guṇabhāgānāṃ kasmiṃścidādhāre'vaśyamavibhāgo vijñeyaḥ | tatastasyāvibhāgasya ya ādhārastadavyaktamityavyaktasiddhiḥ | taduktaṃ mṛgendre- tataḥ prādhānikaṃ tattvaṃ kalātattvādajījanat | saptagranthinidhānasya yattad gauṇasya kāraṇam || (vi0 10|19) iti || 9 || anantaraṃ rāgatattvasiddhimāha- yajjanitābhiṣvaṅge bhogyāya nari kriyā sa rāgo'tra | bhogyaviśeṣe rāge nahi kaścid vītarāgaḥ syāt || 10 || nanu mataṅgādau prakṛtirāgayormadhye puruṣatattvaṃ śrūyate | tatsatyam | tasya tu cetanatvānnityatvācca bhuvanādyādhāratvenādhvatvaṃ na saṃbhavati | tathāhi- kalādipañcakayuktasya bhoktṛtvena puṃstvamalenānātmādāvātmā-bhimānarūpeṇa yoga iti dīkṣāyāṃ tatsthāna eva tacchuddhyarthamāgameṣu prakramitatvādūrdhvaṃ puruṣatattvatayā pāṭhaḥ śrūyate | ataścācāryeṇa tadvarṇanamupekṣitam | māyātattvānantaraṃ tu paśusvarūpaṃ vakṣyati | asmin nari puruṣe yena janitābhilāṣe bhogyavastvādānāya pravṛttirbhavati, so'tra śaive śāstre rāgo jñeyaḥ | abhilāṣātmanā kāryeṇa rāgatattvasiddhirityarthaḥ | nanvavairāgyalakṣaṇo buddhidharma evābhilāṣaheturiti sāṃkhyāḥ, tadayuktam, vāsanārūpasyākāryakaratvāt, tasya vā kāryakaratve buddheḥ sarvadā'nantavāsanāyogena puṃso yugapadviruddhānantapratipattivaiśasaprasaṅgācca | pratyakṣarūpasyāpi bhogyatvānnābhilāṣahetutvam | nanu viṣayaguṇa evābhilāṣaheturastu, tanna, viṣayasaṃnidhānamātrādeva sarvasya sarāgatāpattervītarāgābhāvaprasaṅgāt | tasmād vītarāgadarśanānyathānupapattyā'bhilāṣaheturgrāhakagato rāgo'bhyupagantavyaḥ | etadevāha- bhogyaviśeṣa iti | na ca karmaiva rañjakaṃ bhaviṣyatīti vācyam, tasya phalajanana eva caritārthatvāt, anekatattvaparikalpanābhāvaprasaṅgācca | nanu māyāyā mohakasvabhāvo rāgo'stu, tanna, yato na māyāyāḥ sākṣānmohakatvam, api tu kāryadvāreṇaivetyadoṣaḥ || 10 || vītarāgaśca pratyakṣasiddha evetyāha- yadupahite'bhiṣvaṅgo mahati punastadupadhau sa no dṛṣṭaḥ | tasmānno vācyamidaṃ saviśeṣo nāsti vītarāga iti || 11 || yena stryādinā viṣayeṇopadhāne satyapi so'bhilāṣo na dṛṣṭaḥ, tasmāt pratyakṣadṛṣṭatvādanabhilāṣalakṣaṇaḥ saviśeṣo vītarāgo nāstīti na vācyam || 11 || vidyātattvasiddhimāha- karaṇena yena bhogyaṃ karoti puruṣaḥ pracodya mahadādīn | bhogye bhogaṃ ca punaḥ sā vidyā tatparaṃ karaṇam || 12 || yena karaṇena buddhyahaṅkārādikaraṇagrāmaṃ pracodya puruṣo bhogyaṃ niṣpādayati, tasmiṃśca bhogye bhogaṃ ca karoti, tadvidyākhyaṃ karaṇamātmana iti sannikṛṣṭatvāt paramityucyate | etaduktaṃ bhavati- aśvena pathā dīpikayā yātītyādāvivātrānekakaraṇasādhye'pi phale vidyaiva paramaṃ karaṇam, yatastayaiva bhogyaṃ jānātīti || 12 || kiṃ punaratra bhogyaṃ ko vā bhoga ityata āha- buddhirviṣayākārā sukhādirūpā samāsato bhogyam | bhogye bhogo bhoktuścidvyaktirbhogyanirbhāsā || 13 || adhyavasitasrakcandanādiviṣayā, ata eva sukhaduḥkhamohādhyavasāyarūpā buddhireva puṃsaḥ samāsataḥ saṃkṣepeṇa bhogyam, tasyā eva sākṣādbhogyatvāt | viṣayāstu bāhyāstatsādhanatve paramparayā bhogyā ucyante | tathāhi- bhogyaṃ vastu hi cittādhiṣṭhitaṃ buddhīndriyavṛndaṃ vidyāyā viṣayatvenopasthāpayati | taccāhaṅkāravṛttyātmaparāmarśapūrvikayā buddhyā'dhyavasitamarthaṃ puruṣo gṛhṇāti | yadāhuḥ- (pūrvatanī (pṛ0 78) dvitīyā ṭippaṇī draṣṭavyā |) buddhyadhyavasiramarthaṃ puruṣaścetayati iti | buddhyādīnāṃ sannihitāsannihitaviṣayopasthāpakatvenopayogaḥ, na tu saṃvijjanakatvena | upasthāpitaviṣayaṃ buddhyahaṅkārendriyabhedaiḥ saha yā vivecayati, sā vidyeti vidyāsiddhiḥ | tataśca bhokturanusandhātuḥ puruṣasya, bhogye buddhyākhye sukhādyadhyavasāyarūpe, sukhyahaṃ duḥkhyahamiti bhogyanirbhāsā bhogyoparaktā, cidvyaktiḥ savidudbhavaḥ, sa bhogo mantavyaḥ | yaduktaṃ svāyaṃbhuve- bhogo'sya vedanā puṃsaḥ sukhaduḥkhādilakṣaṇā iti | tataścādhyavasāyasmṛtipratibhāpratyayabhedabhinnā buddhirapi yayā (vi?ve) dyate, sā vidyā | tacca paraṃ karaṇamityuktam || 13 || nanu buddhireva prakāśarūpatvāt sūryādivad viṣayānapyadhyavasāyena prakāśayiṣyati, svātmānamapi grāhayiṣyati, tatkimanyena vidyākhyena karaṇenāta āha- ravivat prakāśarūpo yadi nāma mahāṃstathāpi karmatvāt | karaṇāntarasāpekṣaḥ śakto grāhayitumātmānam || 14 || prakāśarūpāpi buddhirgrāhyatāpannamātmānaṃ karaṇatvena grāhayituṃ na kṣamā, grāhyatvena ghaṭādivad bahiraṅgatvāt | idaṃ cātrākūtam- prakāśarūpā api sūryādayo na kevalāḥ svātmānaṃ grāhayantīti, kintu cakṣurādisāpekṣā eva | tataḥ smṛtyādirūpāpi buddhirna kevalā svātmānaṃ grāhayati, api tu karaṇāntarasāpekṣaiveti tatkaraṇatvena vidyāsiddhiḥ || 14 || nanu prakṛtireva buddhyātmanā pariṇatamātmānaṃ puruṣasya bhogyatvena darśayati, puruṣasya tu na kartṛtvam, api tu draṣṭṛtvame(vātaḥ ? vetya)kartṛtvāt tasya na karaṇāpekṣeti punarapi vidyānarthakyam | ata āha- saṃbandhāt karaṇādyairbhogautsukyena tatprayoktṛtvāt | tacceṣṭāphalayogāt saṃsiddhā kartṛtā puṃsaḥ || 15 || karaṇairbuddhyādibhiḥ, ādigrahaṇādviṣayaiśca saṃbandhād bhogābhilāṣeṇa teṣāṃ karaṇādīnāṃ prayoktṛtvāt tacceṣṭāyā viṣayagrahaṇātmikāyāḥ kriyāyāḥ phalena sukhādinā yogācca puruṣasya kartṛtvaṃ siddham | bhogyautsukyeneti pāṭhe bhogyavastuviṣayeṇābhilāṣeṇeti vyākhyeyam | idaṃ cātrākūtam- prakṛteracetanatvānna puruṣaṃ prati paramārthena pravṛttiryuktā, puṃsa eva tu cetanatvena karaṇādiprayoktṛtvaṃ saṃbhavati | tatastasyaiva kartṛtvam, akartari karaṇādisaṃbandhasya nirarthakatvāditi | na ca acetanasyāpi kṣīrasya gavādervatsādivṛddhyarthaṃ pravṛttirdṛṣṭā, yaduktaṃ sāṃkhyaiḥ- vatsavivṛddhinimittaṃ kṣīrasya yathā pravṛttirajñasya | puruṣavimokṣanimittaṃ tathā pravṛttiḥ pradhānasya || (sāṃ0 kā0 57) iti vācyam, kṣīrasyāpi gavādipretitasyaiva pravṛttidarśanāt pradhānasyāpi na svataḥ pravṛttirūpapadyate yataḥ || 15 || kiñcāsya kartṛtvābhyupagame- vyarthaṃ bhoktrabhidhānaṃ vyarthaṃ ca tataḥ pradhānacaritaṃ vaḥ | nari kartṛtvavihīne na ca bhoga ihāprayojake dṛṣṭaḥ || 16 || yasmāt kartṛtvarahite karaṇādyaprayojake vā puṃsi bhogo na dṛṣṭaḥ, tato bhogasyāpi saṃvedanarūpasya kriyātvena bhoktuḥ kartṛtvānapagamāt tadanabhyupagame bhavatāṃ puruṣe bhoktṛtvakathanaṃ tadbhogārthamacetanasya pradhānasya pravṛttiśca kalpyamānā nirarthakatvānna yuktetyarthaḥ | tataḥ karaṇādiprayoktṛtvād bhoktṛtvācca puṃsaḥ kartṛtvaṃ siddhameva | yadāhuḥ- (ākaro nopalabhyata iti ma0 pā0 vi0 (pṛ0 171, ṭi0 10) draṣṭavyā |) pravṛttau ca nivṛttau ca kārakāṇāṃ ya īśvaraḥ | apravṛttaḥ pravṛtto vā sa kartā nāma kārakaḥ || iti || 16 || itthaṃ jñātṛtvavat kartṛtvamapi puṃsaḥ svarūpamiti pratipāditam, idānīṃ tayoranādimalāvṛtatvācchivasyeva sarvatra sarvadā na prakāśa iti kenāpi vyaṅgyatā siddhetyāha- vyaṅgyaṃ kartṛtvamato sarvārthatvāt kadācidutpatteḥ | jñātṛtvavadiha vedyā tadvyaktikarī kalā sā tu || 17 || jñātṛtvavadiheti | iha sakalāvasthāyāṃ jñātṛtvavat kartṛtvasyāpyasarvaviṣayatvāt kadācidutpadyamānatvācca kenāpyāgantukena vyaṅgyatvaṃ pratīyate | tataśca tadvyañjakatayā kalātattvasiddhirityāha- vedyā tadvyaktīti | tayorjñātṛtvakartṛtvayoḥ, ekadeśamalavidāraṇena yā vyañjikā, sā kaleti kalāsiddhiḥ || 17 || nanu malaruddhāpi puṃsaḥ śaktiḥ sṛṣṭikāle śivaśaktyā prabodhitā tiṣṭhati, kiṃ kalākhyena tattvenāta āha- pāśaṃ tu vinā neśo vyañjayati yato na sarvaviṣayaṃ tat | doṣo viṣamo pathyaṃ vinaiva no rogakartṛśaktimiva || 18 || yataḥ saṃsārāvasthāyāṃ puṃsaḥ caitanyaṃ dṛkkriyātmakaṃ na sarvaviṣayaṃ dṛśyate, tataḥ pāśadvāreṇaiva tadīśvaro'bhivyanakti, na sākṣāt | malaparipāke tu dīkṣākhyayā svaśaktyā sarvaviṣayaṃ tatprakāśayatīti vakṣyāmaḥ | tataśca śivaśaktistattvāntarādhiṣṭhānenaivātmanāṃ bhogadāyikā na sākṣāt, tathā sati buddhyādīnāmapyānarthakyaprasaṅgāditi bhāvaḥ | etadeva doṣa ityādidṛṣṭāntopanyāsena draḍhayati | yathāhi viṣamo'sāmyaṃ prāpto doṣo vātapittādirapathyaṃ vinā rogasya kartṛśaktima-saukhyakaraṇasāmarthyaṃ na vyañjayati, api tvapathyasevāvyavadhānenaiva, vyavadhānenaiva, tatheśo'pi pāśavyavadhānenaivātmanāmasarvaviṣayaṃ caitanyaṃ vyañjayatītyetāvatātra dṛṣṭāntatā, na sarvathā sāmyena, tasya duḥkhaikahetutvādīśvarasya ca tadupakārāyaiva pravṛttatvāt | etacca kalādikāryakartṛtvamīśvarasyānantādyadhiṣṭhānenetyuktaṃ kiraṇe- śuddhe'dhvani śivaḥ kartā prokto'nanto'site prabhuḥ (vi0 3|27) iti || 18 || nanu bhogasya karmanibandhanatvād vijñānakevalasya ca karmāhitasya sukhaduḥkhādibhogasaṃvedanādṛṣṭeḥ karmaṇaiva kevalenātmanaścaitanyavṛttimīśvaraḥ karṣatītyata āha- na ca karmaṇaiva yasmāccaritārthaṃ karma bhoganiṣpattau | jñāne'pi ca prasaṅgāt tataśca vidyādibandhavaiyarthyam || 19 || nātra karmaṇaiva kevalenātmacaitanyābhivyaktiḥ, tasya phalajanana eva caritārthatvāt, kāryāntarahetutve pramāṇābhāvācca | tasyaiva ca kāryāntarahetutve'bhyupagamyamāne viṣayagrahaṇādhyavasāyādikārye'pi tasyaiva hetutvaṃ prasajyate | tataśca vidyābuddhyādīnāmapi tattvānāmānarthakyaprasaṅgaḥ | tatastattvāntarasahakṛtasyaiva karmaṇo bhoganimittatvamiti yathā'dhyavasāyādikāryānyathānupapāyā buddhyādayaḥ kalpyante, eva. puṃso jñānakriyāśaktyabhivyaktyanyathānupapattyā kalā siddhyatīti na kaściddoṣaḥ || 19 || atra parāśaṅkā- pūrvaṃ kalādiyogādagrahaṇād dṛkkriye na vidyete | vyañjakarahite tatra hi no gṛhyete na khalvasadbhāvāt || 20 || kalāditattvasaṃbandha eva jñatvakartṛtvayorutpatteḥ, tatpūrvakālaṃ ca tayoradarśanāt te jñatvakartṛtve tasminnātmani tadānīṃ svarūpatayā na vidyete, api tu kalādisaṃyoga evotpadyete | tato jñānādyādhārataivātmanaḥ siddhyati, na tu jñatvādirūpateti pūrvaḥ pakṣaḥ | siddhāntastu- vyañjakarahita iti | ayamabhiprāyaḥ- jaḍasvabhāvasya ghaṭāderiva jñānasamavāyābhāvāt, anityajñānasamavāyābhyupagame vikārayogena tasyāpyanityatvaprasaṅgāt, vyañjakasaṃnidhāne jñātṛrūpasya grāhakātmanaḥ svasaṃvedanasiddhatvācca nityamevātmanaścetanātmakatvamabhyupagantavyam | taccātmanaḥ svarūpamanādimalāvṛtatvād vyañjakena vinā na prakāśata ityuktam | tataśca kalādiyogāt pūrvaṃ vyañjakarahitatvāt te jñatvakartṛtve tatra ātmani na prakāśete, na tvasattvāt | vyañjakābhāvakṛto hi yo'nupalambhaḥ sa nābhāvasādhakaḥ, api tu sati vyañjake, bhūtanidhānādīnāṃ sattve'pi vyañjakāsannidhāne'nupalambhāt || 20 || etadevāha- upalambhake ca satyapi loke yannopalabhyate tadasat | jñānakriye ca tadvannāsadbhūte kadācidataḥ || 21 || yasya hi ghaṭādeḥ pradīpādivyañjakasadbhāve'pi nopalambhaḥ, tasyaivāsattvam, nānyasyāndhakārāditirodhānenānupalabhyamānasya | ataśca jñānakriye api vyañjakābhāvādeva deva nopalabhyete, tasmāt kadācidapi nāsattāṃ vrajata ityāha- jñānakriye ceti | nanu janmanaḥ pūrvamanubhaviturjñānādisattāniścayābhāvāt saṃśaya eva yuktaḥ ? tanna, tadaharjātānāmapi bālānāṃ pānacaraṇābhighātādiceṣṭāviśeṣasya prayatnapūrvakasya hitāhitasmaraṇāvinābhāvena vyavahārakāle siddhasya darśanād janmanaḥ prāgapi jñatvakartṛtvayoḥ sattvaṃ siddhameva yataḥ || 21 || etadeva dṛṣṭāntena sādhayati- prākpacanavyāpārāt tatsiddhiḥ pācake yathā tadvat | bodhāt karaṇāccāṇoḥ pūrvaṃ siddhe kutastacchaktiḥ || 22 || yathā pācanakriyādarśanena tatpūrvakālaṃ paridṛśyamānaṃ pacanasāmarthyaṃ pācake prāgevāstīti gamyate, na tu tatkālamevotpadyata iti | evaṃ jñānakāryayordarśanādātmanaste jñānakriyāśaktī prāgeva vidyete iti niścīyate | taduktaṃ śrīmanmṛgendre- caitanyaṃ dṛkkṛyārūpaṃ tadastyātmani sarvadā | sarvataśca yato muktau śrūyate sarvatomukham || (vi0 2|5) iti | tataśca- vyañjakasāpekṣatvāt tanmūlaṃ dṛkkriyāvaraṇamasti yataḥ | yadabhāve dṛkkriyayoḥ sarvārthatvādaṇorna saṃsaraṇam || 23 || yataḥ saṃsārāvasthāyāṃ jñānakriyayorvyañjakāpekṣā dṛśyate, atastadapekṣāyāḥ kāraṇaṃ dṛkkriyācchādanaṃ kimapyastītyavasīyate | yasyābhāve muktātmanāṃ jñatvakartṛtvayorīśvaravat sarvaviṣayakatvāt punaḥ saṃsārayogo nāstīti śrūyate | nanu sāṃkhyairnirmala evātmābhyupagataḥ, tadasat, saṃsārāvasthāyāṃ tasya pāratantryadarśanāt, tasya cāhetukatve muktasyāpi pāratantryaprasaṅgāt, jñānakriyayorvyañjakāpekṣaṇācca | yacchrūyate- pāśābhāve pāratantryaṃ vaktavyaṃ kiṃnibandhanam (mṛ0 vi0 7|2) ityādi || 23 || eṣāṃ cāvyaktādīnāmutpattikramamāha- avyaktarāgavidyāḥ kalāsamutthāḥ kalā ca māyājā | vasudhādyastattvagaṇaḥ pratipuṃniyataḥ kalānto'yam || 24 || paryaṭati karmavaśato bhuvanajadeheṣvayaṃ ca sarveṣu | bhuvanākṛtayaścānye skandhā jñeyāḥ kalāntānām || 25 || yaduktaṃ raurave- kalātattvādrāgavidye dve tattve saṃbabhūvatuḥ | avyaktaṃ ca (vi0 2|15) iti | kalā ceti caśabdāt kālaniyatī ca māyāsamutpanne, kālaniyatyorapi māyodbhūtatvena bhogakriyopakārakatvena ca śruteḥ | tathāhi- niyatyabhāve hyanyopārjitānyapi karmāṇyanye bhuñjīran, rājaniyamābhāve dvijādikṛṣyādiphalānīva dasyava iti niyāmakatvena niyatiḥ siddhā | kālaścāpi tasyaiva bhogāvadhiniyamahetuścirakṣiprādipratyayaliṅgaḥ siddha evetyādivistareṇoktamasmābhiḥ mṛgendravṛttidīpikāyāṃ tattvaprakāśavṛttau ca | proktaṃ ca mṛgendre- truṭyādipratyayasyārthaḥ kālo māyāsamudbhavaḥ | kalayannā samutthānānniyatyā niyataṃ paśum || (vi0 10|14) iti | etacca tattvadvayaṃ kalādyapekṣayā bahiraṅgatvādācāryeṇa vistareṇa na sādhitam, api tu kathamasya puryaṣṭakatvam, bhūtatanmātrabuddhīndriyakarmendriyāntaḥkaraṇasaṃjñaiḥ pañacabhirvargaistatkāraṇena guṇatattvena tadāpūrakeṇa ca pradhānenabhoktrisvarūpopakārakeṇa kalādipañcakañcukātmanā ca vargeṇārabdhatvādityavirodhaḥ | tacca sūkṣmaśarīraṃ bāhyaśarīrabhede'pi sṛṣṭerārabhya saṃhārāntaṃ tadantarāle mokṣaprāptyantaṃ vā ekasya ekamevetyavagantavyam | itthamasādhāraṇarū(paṃ?pāṃ) kalāditattvasṛṣṭimuktvā''tmana eva karmānuguṇabhuvanajadehaviṣayādyādhārabhūtāṃ bhuvanātmikāṃ sādhāraṇīṃ sṛṣṭimāha- bhuvanākṛtayaśceti || 24-25 || eṣāṃ ca tattvānāṃ pratipuruṣaṃ niyatatayā'caitanye satyanekatvād bhuvanādhāratvena sāvayavatvācca kāryatvasiddhestadupādānaṃ māyā siddhetyāha- vikṛteḥ parato māyā nityā vibhvī hyacetanā caikā | sargasthitivilayānāmādhāraḥ kāraṇaṃ ca sā jagataḥ || 26 || upādānakāraṇatvāt sṛṣṭyādīnāmādhāratvena vikṛteḥ svakāryavargasya parataḥ, paṭhyata iti śeṣaḥ | sā ca nityā, paramakāraṇatvāt tasyāpyupādānābhyupagame'navasthāprasaṅgācca | vibhvī ca svakāryavyāpikā | kiñcācetanā, upādānatvādeva, mṛdādīnāmupādānānāmacaitanyameva dṛśyate yataḥ | ekā ca paramakāraṇatvādeva | anekatve hyacaitanye satyanekatvād ghaṭādivat kāraṇāntaraṃ mṛgyam, ataścānavasthā syāt | ata eva paramāṇavo na paramakāraṇamutyuktam | nanu paramātmaiva jagadupādānamiti vedāntavidaḥ, tadayuktam, tasyopādānatve tattvādivajjaḍatvaprasaṅgāt, cetanācetanakāraṇatve'syāpi tadrūpatvena sāṃśatayā kāryatvaprasaṅgācca- yadā yadrūpiṇo bhāvāstadā tadrūpeṇa hetujāḥ iti | etacca dūṣaṇaṃ pāñcarātrābhyupagatāyā nārāyaṇākhyāyāḥ paraprakṛterapi vijñeyam, nyāyasya samānatvāt | atra sargasthitivilayānāmādhāra ityanena satkāryavādadṛśā mahāpralaye kalādikāryāṇi sūkṣmarūpeṇa māyāyāmavasthitānīti darśayati | yacchrūyate- tadādhārāṇi kāryāṇi śaktirūpāṇi saṃhṛtau | vivṛtau vyaktirūpāṇi vyāpriyante'rthasiddhaye || (mṛ0 vi0 9|13) iti | eṣa ca satkāryavādo'smābhiḥ mṛgendravṛttidīpikāyāṃ vistareṇa sādhitaḥ || 26 || itthaṃ śuddhādhvānaṃ pratipādya yasyedamupakārakaṃ tamāha- nityaṃ vibhu ca malena hyanādisaṃruddhadṛkkriyaṃ tattvam | paśvabhidhānaṃ yasya hi bhogāyā'yaṃ tu parikaro'bhihitaḥ || 27 || yasya karmabhogārthaṃ sādhāraṇāsādhāraṇarūpo māyīyaḥ parikaro'bhihitaḥ, tadātmavṛndamalena paśutvākhyenānādyāvṛtajñānakriyatvāt paśvākhyaṃ tattvamucyate | ata eva na malasya tattvāntaratvamapi tu paśutattva evāntarbhāvaḥ, tena vinā paśutvāyogācca | tat tattvaṃ nityam, na tu bauddhānāmiva kṣaṇikam, pūrvānubhūtasmaraṇadarśanāt, kṣaṇikatve karmānuṣṭhānatatphalabhoktṛtvayoranupapatteśca | kiñca vibhuḥ, na tu kṣapaṇakānāmiva śarīraparimitaḥ saṅkocavikāsadharmī vā, tādṛśasyācetanatvānityatvādidoṣaprasaṅgāt, karmaphalabhoktṛtvena ca bhogavaicitryadarśanāt | anekatvamātmanāmarthasiddhameva | vakṣyati ca saṃkrāntinirākaraṇasamaye | atra yadā kūṭasthanityena malena pravāhanityena ca karmaṇā'nādisambandhasya mokṣaditsāyāṃ śambhurmalaparipākārthaṃ karmabhojanāya māyīyena kalādinā sambandhaṃ karoti, tadā'sāvātmā sakala ityucyate, mahāpralaye tu kalādyupasaṃhārānmalakarmayuktaḥ pralayākalaḥ, vijñānayogādinā karmaṇo vināśāt kevalamalayukto vijñānakala ityādipaśubhedo'smābhistattvaprakāśavṛttau vistareṇa darśitaḥ || 27 || ayaṃ ca- dhvaṃsitabandhanajālo dīkṣājñānākhyayā tu śivaśaktyā | śuddho'dhvā tattvānāmā prakaṭīkṛtadṛkkriyaścāṇuḥ || 28 || tatra hyācāryakṛto niradhikaraṇo vā śivasyānugrāhyaviṣayaḥ śākto vyāpāro dīkṣocyate | tato dīkṣājñānādiśabdavācyatā śivaśaktyā'panītamalādipāśajālo'ta eva prakāśitasarvārthajñānakriyo'ṇurātmā śuddhādhvasaṃjño bhavati | yaduktaṃ raurave- sarvāñjanavinirmuktaṃ śivaśaktikale sthitam | ātmatattvamidaṃ śuddham (vi0 4|43) iti | nanu jñānādevātmanāṃ mokṣa iti vedāntisāṃkhyādayaḥ, tadayuktam, malasya dravyatvāccakṣuṣaḥ paṭalāderiva na jñānamātrānnivṛttiḥ saṃbhavati, api tu cakṣurvaidyavyāpāreṇeva dīkṣākhyeneśvaravyāpāreṇaiva | yata uktaṃ svāyaṃbhuve- dīkṣaiva mocayatyūrdhvaṃ śaivaṃ dhāma nayatyapi iti || 28 || iyaṃ ca āha- eṣyatphalakṛtidāhād dīkṣitamātrasya patati no piṇḍaḥ | bhavati ca kācid dīkṣā yā hantyapi vartamānaphalam || 37 || eṣyatphalānāmeva karmaṇāṃ sadyonirvāṇadīkṣayā dāhādārabdhakāryasya karmaṇopasthāpitatvācca dīkṣottarakālaṃ śarīrasthitiraviruddhā | yaduktaṃ kiraṇe- anekabhavikaṃ karma dagdhaṃ bījamivāṇubhiḥ | bhaviṣyadapi saṃruddhaṃ yenedaṃ taddhi bhogataḥ || (vi0 6|19) iti | piśācavararājaḥ | bhrāntyā vimalātmā'sau vrajati hi samatāṃ pareśena || 39 || atra ca dīkṣottarakālaṃ snānārcanādisamayānuṣṭhānenārabdhakāryapāśakṣayaḥ pratyahamapacayena kriyate | tataḥ sāpekṣadīkṣābhājāṃ śaktānāṃ samayācāraviśeṣo'nuṣṭheyaḥ | bāliśānāṃ ca nirapekṣadīkṣābhājāṃ guruśuśrūṣāśivārcanādi yāvacchakyamanuṣṭheyam, ata eva tadanuṣṭhānena dīkṣāniṣpattiranumīyate | tataśca yasya malaparipākabalena tīvrataraśaktipātanam, na dīkṣāvaikalyam, nāpi samayollaṅghanādi, tasya dehapātāntaraṃ mokṣaḥ | yasya tu malaparipākamāndyānmandatarādiśaktipātasya dīkṣottaraṃ daivānmānuṣāt pratibalāt samayollaṅghanaṃ samurpadyate, so'nanuṣṭhitasamayācāro'kṛtaprāyaścittavidhiśca piśācarājātmakaṃ samayollaṅghanaphalaṃ kāmyaphalamivānubhūya punarvimalātmā paraśivasāmyaṃ mokṣarūpaṃ prāpnoti | yaduktam- prāyaścittaviśuddhasya matiḥ śuddhā prakīrtitā iti | yasya tu dṛṣṭārthatayā kṛtrimagurubhaktyādinā kṛtadīkṣitasya buddhipūrvameva samayānanuṣṭhānaṃ na tasya sā niṣpannā, guruśca śivenāpanītamalāḥ sarvaviṣayajñānakriyāśca sampannāḥ | yaduktaṃ mṛgendre- tatrādau kevalāṇūnāṃ yogyānāṃ kurute'ṣṭakam | vāmādiśaktibhiryuktaṃ saptakoṭiparicchadam || (vi0 4|2) iti || 40 || ke te ? kiñca kurvantītyata āha- te'nanteśapramukhāḥ patibhāvāt prerayanti mantrādīn | sargasthitilayamuktīḥ kurvanti harecchayā nunnāḥ || 41 || te || 43 || yasmāt putrādyarthānāṃ tattadarthavideva pitrādirloke'bhidhānakṛd dṛṣṭaḥ, tasmānmantreśvarātmanāmapi vācakān mantrān śambhurevākārṣīt | sa eva teṣāṃ sāmānyaviśeṣalakṣaṇajño yataḥ | vidyāvidyeśvareṣu vidvadbhiḥ | ekaḥ śivo'vikārī tacchaktiścāpyato na yogyau tau || 44 || bahudhā sthātuṃ yadvā caitanyavinākṛtau vikāritvāt | atha śambhureka eva hi yogīva bhavedanekamūrtisthaḥ || 45 || gītāyāṃ śrūyate- anugrahāya lokasya śivo mantra iti śrutiḥ | yā tvanugrāhikā śaktiḥ sā mantratvamihāgatā || iti, caturviṃśatirākhyātā mantrāṇāmīśvarāḥ parāḥ | āṇavāḥ śāmbhavāḥ śāktāstathānyā tadā vikāritvānmāyādivadacetanau prasajyete | tayoścācetanatvaṃ na yuktam, cetanatvenaiva śravaṇāt, acetanasya cetanādhiṣṭhānaṃ vinā pariṇāmādyayogācca | tasmādaupacārika eva tayorbhedaḥ | parāśaṅkāmāha- atha śambhuriti || 44-45 || eko'pi śivo yogivadanekadehādhiṣṭhānena sadāśivānantādisaṃjñābhedaṃ labhata iti cet, taccāyuktamityāha- śaktirmūrtistasya hi sā caikā nāpyayaṃ mukhyaḥ | bahavaḥ śreyobhājaḥ puruṣāsteṣāṃ ca dṛkkriyotkarṣaḥ || 46 || vyañjakabhedotkarṣād dṛṣṭo'tastadbhavo mukhyaḥ | yasmācchivasya nirmalatvena paramārthatvena baindavādidehāyogācchaktireva dehakāryaṃ kurvāṇopacāreṇa mūrtirucyate | sā caikaivetyuktam | tasmādīśānādistadbhedo'pi na vāstava eveti yogināmiva śarīrabhedo'pyasya na mukhya eva | nanu- pañcavaktrastripañcadṛk ityādinā śivasyāpi śarīrabhedaḥ śrūyate, satyam, so'pi dhyānārthameva śrūyate | yaduktaṃ pauṣkare- sādhakasya tu lakṣyārthaṃ tasya rūpamudāhṛtam iti | aṇupakṣabhedastu mukhya evetyāha- bahavaḥ śreya iti | atra hi bhogabhedājjananamaraṇabhedācca bhogamokṣārthaṃ tvete śreyobhājaḥ puruṣā bahava eva dṛśyante | teṣāṃ ca vyañjakaśarīrendriyādisaṃbhavādutkarṣaḥ, uttarottaraṃ jñānākriyotkarṣaśca dṛśyate | tasmādeṣāmapi vidyāvidyeśvarāṇāṃ proktavacchivānugrahabhedena tattadadhikārabhedād bhuvanabhedācca tatsaṃbhavo bhedo vāstava eva || 46 || tataśca- kurute'rthaṃ śivaśaktī tānadhiruhyeha tadgatād bhedāt || 47 || bhinne iva lakṣyete guṇato jātitaśca tannāma | yasmāt tānadhiṣṭhāya śivaśaktī puruṣārthaṃ sādhayataḥ, tatastadbhedena te api bhinne iva bhavataḥ | sa ca saśaktikaḥ śivastadgatakṛtyabhedayogena gauṇyā vṛttyā tattatsaṃjñāvān bhavati || 47 || ataḥ śiva eva sarvānugrāhaka ityāha- nityasvabhāvavimalaḥ sarvajñaḥ sarvakṛcceśaḥ || 48 || avihataśaktiḥ śambhuḥ suhṛdekaḥ sarvapuruṣāṇām | atra ca śaktidvitayaṃ bodhadhyānādisiddhaye gaditam || 49 || mūrtistadvāṃśceti leśāduktiśca śaktiśaktimatoḥ | atra śāstre bhogamokṣasidhyarthaṃ jñeyatayā ca sakalaniṣkalākhyaṃ śaktiśaktimatsajñaṃ vā tattvadvayamuktam | tayośca śaktiśaktimatormūrtimūrtimattvenoktirjñeyā | etaduktaṃ bhavati- adhikārāvasthāyāṃ kāryabhedādaṣṭatriṃśatkalābhedabhinnā śaktirevāsya mūrtiḥ | tadyogādeva cāsau sakalaḥ procyate | uparatavyāpāratayā yukto niṣkala iti || 48-49 || tāṃ ca- mūrtimadhiṣṭhāya haraḥ puruṣāṇāṃ parahitaikadṛk śambhuḥ || 50 || kurute tu bhuktimuktī ruddhabalatvāt svato'samarthānām | dhyeyākārābhivyaktāṃ śaktirūpāṃ mūrtimadhiṣṭhāya parahitaikadarśī śambhurmalāvṛtasāmarthyatvena svabhogamokṣāya svayamasamarthānāṃ puṃsāṃ bhogamokṣau kurute | sa ca pāśān paśubhyo harati, tāṃśca bhogārthaṃ vā haratīti haraḥ kathyate | yaduktam- (netratantrodyote'pi (1|3) uddhṛto dṛśyate'yaṃ ślokārdhaḥ |) harati paśubhyaḥ pāśān puṃso'pyūrdhvaṃ padaṃ tatastu haraḥ iti | prayogaścātra- puruṣā bhogārthaṃ mokṣārthaṃ vā na svayaṃ pravartituṃ śaktāḥ, baddhatvenāsvatantratvāt, meṣādibaddhapaśuvat | pāśāśca na puruṣārthaṃ svayaṃ pravartante nivartante vā, jaḍatvādrajjvādivat | ato yasteṣāṃ bhogamokṣahetuḥ, saḥ śiva eva siddhaḥ || 50 || atra ca- vidyāvidyeśatvaṃ cāparamuktiḥ pareha śivasamatā || 51 || vidyādipadānāṃ paramuktyapekṣayā preryatve'pi māyottīrṇatvānnirmalatvācca na punaḥ saṃsārayoga ityaparamuktitvam | śivasāmyaṃ tu paramokṣa eva || 51 || tataśca- sarvavyāptyarhatvānnāma vyāpsyanti mantrādyāḥ | patyā vyañjitaśaktiḥ puruṣo'to jāyate'sya patisamatā || 52 || vyañjakamanukurvantī pūrvaṃ dṛṣṭā ca śaktiraṇoḥ | prāg dṛṣṭatvācchakterno saṃkrāntirna jātivaccaikā || 53 || mantrādayaḥ paramuktyarhatvānmuktasaṃjñābhāja ityarthaḥ | nanu saṃsārāvasthāyāṃ puruṣasya kiñcijjñatvadarśanānmuktāvapi tādṛśa evāta āha- patyā vyañjiteti | sarvajñena sarvasāmarthyayuktena ca śivena yato'sau pumān vyañjitaśaktistato'sya tatsāmyaṃ bhavatyeva | tathāhi- saṃsārāvasthāyāmabhivyañjakabalānusāreṇa keṣāṃcidajñānādiyogo'nyeṣāṃ ca jñānādyutkarṣo dṛśyate | ata eveśvaraguṇasaṃkrāntimokṣavādo'pyayukta ityāha- prāgdṛṣṭatvāditi | puruṣe prājñe jñānādiśakterdṛṣṭatvādamūrtasya guṇasaṃkrāntyayogāt tatsaṃkrāntau dṛṣṭādarśanācca saṃkrāntipakṣo'yuktaḥ | eṣa ca saṃkrāntyādimokṣanirāsaprakārastatrabhavatā ācāryeṇa- nodāharaṇasadbhāvo guṇasaṃkrāntisādhane || vijñānamupadeśāttu tādṛganyat prajāyate | dīpāntara samutpattiḥ pradīpādindhanāntare | amūrtasya ca saṃkrāntau na loko na parīkṣakaḥ || (pa0 kā0 13-22) ityādibhiḥ kārikābhiḥ proktavadanekatvādekamokṣe sarvamokṣaprasaṅgācca || 52-53 || paramātmalayākhyo'pi mokṣo na saṃbhavatītyāha- asakṛt pṛthagupalabdhāḥ puruṣāstenāpi na tvaikyam | na ca nāśaḥ puṃśaktyormuktau yasmāt tayoranāditvam || 54 || muktāviti vakṣyamāṇenānvayaḥ | muktau naiyāyikādyupagatasaṃvidabhāvo'pyayuktaḥ, śaktiśaktimatościdrūpatayā nityatvena ca sādhanādityāha- na ca nāśa iti || 54 || ata evānāditvena nityatvānmokṣanimittabhūtasya śivasya śaktyātmanastadaiśvaryasya vā nāśo na saṃbhavati | tataśca tannāśena mukte tadaiśvaryorpattiriti yatpravāheśvaravādibhirucyate, tadayuktamityāha- nāpi ca śivasya śakterathavā'bhāvo nimittasya | eṣāṃ ca- apṛthakkṛtya guṇatvādupalabdhiḥ procyate viśeṣaśca || 55 || śivasya muktātmanāṃ ca samānaguṇatvādapṛthagekarūpaivopalabdhiḥ sarvaviṣayo jñānādiprakāśaḥ procyate | kiṃ punarebhyaḥ śivasya viśeṣa ityāha- viśeṣa iti || 55 || mukteṣu śivājjātaṃ māhātmyamanādimadhyāntam | teṣu muktātmasvanādimadhyāntamapi māhātmyaṃ sarvajñatvasarvakar- tṛtvātmakamanādimalāvṛtattvācchivānnimittabhūtādabhivyaktam | śivastvanādisiddhasarvajñatvasarvakartṛtva[yukta] ityayamasyaiṣāṃ ca viśeṣaḥ || 56 || itthaṃ sakalavaraprada ārādhyaḥ śambhureva tattvavidā || 56 || tasmiṃstuṣṭe siddhirmuktiśca parā bhavet puṃsaḥ | taduktamatharvaśikhāyām- śiva eko dhyeyaḥ śivaṅkaraḥ sarvamanyat parityajya (2 ka0) iti | ataśca sarvānugrāhakatvāt sarvakartṛtvācca tadāgamasya śaivākhyasyaiva prāmāṇyam, āgamāntarāṇāṃ bauddhādīnāmanyeṣāmasarvajñapraṇītatvena parasparavirodhāt | yadahuḥ (ratnakīrtinibandhāvalyāṃ sarvajñasiddhau (pṛ0 5) (kumārila) bhaṭṭavacanatvenoddhṛto'yaṃ śloka iti ma0 pā0 vi0 (pṛ0 67, ṭi0 18) draṣṭavyam |)- sugato yadi sarvajñaḥ kapilo neti kā pramā | athobhāvapi sarvajñau matibhedaḥ kathaṃ tayoḥ || iti | nanu śaivasyāpi āgamāntaravirodhādapramāṇyam, tanna, virodhābhāvāt | tathāhi- sarvā'nyāgamaprāpyasthānapradarśanapūrvaṃ tadanadhigatārthaprakāśakatvādasya prāmāṇyamanivāryameva | yadāhuḥ- anadhigatārthagantṛ pramāṇam iti | kiñca, (pūrvatanī 129 pṛṣṭhasthā tṛtīyā ṭippaṇī draṣṭavyā |) iti varṇāśramācārān manasāpi na laṅghayet ityādibhirvarṇāśramācārābhyanujñānena vedāvirodhād vedavitparigrahaṇāccāsya matāntarāṇāmiva na pāṣaṇḍitvam | tathā purāṇetihāsayoḥ śvetopamanyuprabhṛtīnāṃ maharṣīṇāmatrānuṣṭhānaṃ śrūyate, mahābhārate ca naranārāyaṇayoraśvatthāmnaśca | ābhyāṃ liṅge'rcite devastvayā'rcāyāṃ yuge yuge iti suvarṇākṣe ca viṣṇostadārādhanāt prasādaśca | api ca- nānyat priyataro loke mama kṛṣṇa bhaviṣyati ityādi rāmāyaṇe ca | kārtavīryādismṛtiṣu ca pratiṣṭhāpūrvako dharmaḥ- pakveṣṭakācitaṃ samyag yaḥ karoti śivālayam ityādi | sūtre ca- mokṣaṃ vinirdiśet iti ca | atharvaśiraḥsu śvetāśvatarādiṣūpaniṣatsu liṅgā'rcanādi śrūyate | tato nāsyāvigānatā, na ca vicchinnamūlatā, na ca kaiścideva parigrahaḥ | atastadvākyaṃ sarvapramāṇābādhitatvāt sarvotkṛṣṭatvācca grāhyameva | uktaṃ ca mokṣakārikāsu- na cānyena pramāṇena saṃruddhastasya gocaraḥ | śrotriyairapyato grāhyaṃ tatphalādhikasādhanam || (ślo0 146)
